Why Choose a Copper Kitchen Splashback?

Copper is a proven material for kitchen splashbacks, offering an excellent combination of durability, hygiene, and long-term performance. As a non-ferrous metal, copper performs well in environments exposed to heat, moisture, and regular cleaning, making it suitable for both residential and commercial kitchen installations.

From a fabrication perspective, copper allows for precise cutting, clean edge detailing, and accurate cut-outs for sockets, switches, and fixtures. This makes it particularly well suited to bespoke splashbacks where exact sizing, tigh

We are committed to delivering unmatched quality by using only the highest-quality materials for our copper kitchen splashbacks. We source our copper sheets from renowned German mills, which ensures you receive the highest-grade copper available worldwide. The copper we use for our splashbacks is 1.2mm thick, offering superior durability compared to thinner sheets, which are often susceptible to distortion when being handled and installed.

Fabrication

Our team are experts in fabricating non-ferrous metals, and we hold an extensive range of copper, zinc, pewter, and brass sheets in stock. Our highly skilled craftspeople handle these soft metals with precision and care, ensuring exceptional results in every project. We achieve unmatched accuracy and consistency across all our work using computer-controlled cutting, bending, and pressing machinery.

Our copper sheets are expertly cut using either laser or guillotine techniques to ensure flawless precision. We use premium-quality MRMDF or Birch Ply timber

CNC Cutting Copper Splashbacks to Size

This video shows two copper splashbacks being produced in our workshop. Each splashback is made from solid copper sheet bonded to 18mm MR MDF board for strength and easy installation. The copper is protected with a film during cutting on our 3m × 1.5m CNC router, ensuring a clean finish while allowing us to add precise details such as socket cut-outs. Once cut, the panels move through our patina department where the ageing process is applied, before heading to our spray shop for a durable lacquered finish that protects and enhances the copper surface.

Copper Splashback Finishes

Following fabrication, copper splashbacks can be supplied in a range of specified finishes, selected according to reflectivity, surface texture, and maintenance requirements. Finishes are chosen at the point of manufacture and supplied with appropriate surface protection for kitchen environments.

Natural and satin copper finishes retain the base surface of the copper sheet and offer a mid- to low-sheen appearance. These finishes may be supplied untreated or clear lacquered, depending on how much surface change is acceptable over time. Lacquering reduces

Maintenance

Cleaning is straightforward for natural, aged, and satin copper splashbacks without a lacquer coating. Use a microfibre cloth with soapy water to gently clean the surface. Avoid harsh cleaning products, as they can disrupt the natural patina development. Applying beeswax is an effective solution if you’d like to slow down the patina process. We recommend Natural Creamy Beeswax by Flag Paints Ltd for the best results.

Maintenance is equally simple for lacquered finishes. Use a microfibre cloth dampened with soapy water to clean the surface, then dry

Fixing

When attaching copper products to walls, timber, or other surfaces using adhesives, it’s essential to follow some key guidelines:

Avoid silicones containing acetic acid, as these can react with copper. If you’re unsure, it’s best to avoid silicones altogether. We recommend using CT1 Adhesive Sealant or Bostik Simson MSR premium adhesive sealants, both of which are available from The Glue People.

We can include the recommended adhesives with your order upon request, ensuring you have everything required for a successful installation.
