This example features a custom-made zinc plaque we produced for The Long Barn, designed to complement the brand’s natural and rustic product range. The plaque was engraved and then treated with an aged finish to achieve a look in keeping with their aesthetic.

We used a 1.5mm thick sheet of zinc for this piece. After engraving, the recessed lettering was given a dark patina to create a striking black contrast, while the surface of the plaque received a lighter patina to provide a soft, weathered appearance.

To preserve the finish and enhance durability, several coats of clear lacquer were applied as a protective seal.

The subdued grey tones of the aged zinc harmonise beautifully with the surrounding pastel palette, creating an understated yet distinctive visual effect.

This custom-fabricated zinc sign panel was produced specifically for Creattiva, combining engraved detail with a bold finish and distinctive shaping.

To begin the process, we engraved the TCC text and logo into a zinc sheet, which was then precision-cut to size. The panel was subsequently formed into an angled profile using our CNC-controlled press brake, ensuring accurate and consistent bends. Once the fabrication was complete, the engraved areas were carefully filled with yellow enamel to provide contrast and visual impact.

After the enamel had fully cured, a deep, rustic patina was applied to give the sign a darkened, aged appearance with added character.

Compared to more commonly used metals such as brass and copper, zinc signs remain a more niche option. However, its naturally rustic character makes it particularly appealing for those seeking something with a bit more individuality. Patinas can be applied in a range of tones, from soft grey to rich black.

Where additional contrast or decorative detail is needed, enamel fills can be used to introduce colour into the engraved lettering, as demonstrated in the Creattiva and English Garden examples above.
