Antiqued aged brass wall cladding

Project: The challenge lay in preserving the building’s contemporary allure while infusing it with the charm of antiquity. The Architects & design team aimed to seamlessly integrate antiqued aged brass wall cladding into the building’s interior, striking a delicate balance between old-world sophistication and modern sensibilities. They sought a solution that would evoke a sense of history and heritage, enriching the ambiance without overshadowing the architectural integrity of the space.

After extensive deliberation, the decision was made to use Natural brass with a chemically treated antiqued finish as the primary material for the brass wall cladding. Antique aged brass offered the perfect fusion of vintage charm and durability, lending a sense of warmth and character to the interiors. Its Bespoke Antique aged patina and weathered appearance would evoke nostalgia while adding depth and texture to the spaces.

Our Fabrication and Patina Departments team collaborated closely with the project managers at James Johnson to achieve the desired antiqued effect on the brass cladding. Through a meticulous process of hand-finishing Patination techniques, each panel was Created to show a rich varied Patina. Careful attention was paid to detail, ensuring that every panel bore the hallmarks of craftsmanship and authenticity. Our brass wall cladding panels were well recieved and appreciated.

Stats: The Project in its entirety was to cover 542M2 of wall space and dividing panelling for board rooms, office space and social areas. We manufactured 312 fully clad MR MDF boards in Antique aged Brass ranging in various sizes and dimensions.

Challenges: The Project originally was to take 4 months with a deadline of Feb 2024 but due to patination expectations an additional 2 months of patination work was carried which pushed the job to 6 months to fully complete and be installed.
