Our products are tailored for the hospitality industry and private residences. Whether you have detailed technical construction drawings or simple sketches, we’re eager to bring your vision to life. Our initial layout will outline essential details such as lengths, widths, and thicknesses. You can also customize front nosing profiles for a unique touch to your bar design. We can accommodate curves and split levels, and built-in drip trays are available for added functionality and elegance.

Materials

At Metal Sheets Ltd, we prioritize quality by using only the finest materials for our pewter bar tops. Our premium pewter sheets are imported directly from renowned European suppliers, ensuring you receive top-quality pewter. This pewter is characterized by an exceptional natural surface finish. With precise dimensional tolerances, our CNC machinery bends sheets into long lengths, minimizing joints for a seamless look on extended bar tops. We keep a stock of pewter sheets measuring 2 meters in length, enhancing the continuity of our designs. Additionally, we use MRMDF and Birch Ply timber to provide sturdy and attractive support for our bar tops.

Finishing

After fabrication, we send our pewter bar tops to the finishing shop. Here, we expertly blend soldered areas and condition the pewter sheet to achieve a satin finish. This process removes any blemishes that may have arisen during fabrication. Customers can leave the pewter top in its natural state, allowing it to gracefully age and develop a patina over time. Alternatively, they can opt for an initial patina to give it a head start. Our aged patinas are a popular choice, with two options: light aged and dark aged. We also provide durable lacquers to preserve patina finishes. However, we generally recommend against their long-term use in busy bars. This allows the beauty of pewter to shine as it evolves with age.

Maintenance

Once a pewter bar top is finished, whether in its natural state or with a patina, we apply beeswax polish. This polish provides a final clean and creates a seal that slows the natural patina process. Maintaining a pewter bar top is straightforward. For both natural and aged pewter, simply use a soft cloth dampened with water and mild detergent. This will wipe away spills and maintain the surface effectively. Avoid aggressive cleaning products, as they can damage the finish. The patina gradually develops and blends over time. If needed, you can reapply beeswax after cleaning to help manage the rate of patina growth.
