To achieve a seamless aesthetic, our advanced CNC machinery expertly bends pewter sheets into long lengths, reducing the need for multiple joints on extended bar tops. We have a stock of pewter sheets measuring up to 2 metres in length, allowing us to create designs with greater continuity and minimal interruptions. For a strong, stable foundation, we use MRMDF and high-grade Birch Ply timber, chosen for their durability and ability to enhance the overall structural integrity and visual appeal of our bar tops.

After fabrication, each pewter bar top is carefully processed in our dedicated finishing shop. Here, our skilled engineers meticulously blend soldered areas to create a seamless surface while conditioning the pewter sheet to achieve a refined satin finish. This crucial step removes any minor blemishes that may have occurred during fabrication, ensuring a flawless and visually appealing result.

Clients have the option to leave their pewter countertops in their natural state, which allows the material to age gracefully over time and develop its signature patina. For those who prefer an aged appearance from the outset, we offer an initial patina treatment. Our popular aged patina finishes come in two distinct variations: light aged and dark aged, each enhancing the character of the pewter in a unique way.

To further protect and preserve patina finishes, we also provide durable lacquer coatings. However, in high-traffic environments such as busy bars, we advise against long-term lacquer application. This allows the pewter to evolve naturally, showcasing its distinctive charm as it develops with age and use.

Once a pewter bar top has been completed-whether left in its natural state or finished with a patina-it receives a final application of beeswax polish. This polish not only enhances the surface but also provides a protective seal that helps slow the natural patina development, allowing for a more controlled ageing process.

It’s very easy to care for a pewter bar top, and requires minimal effort. To clean both natural and aged pewter surfaces, use a soft cloth dampened with warm water and some mild detergent. This will effectively remove spills and maintain the surface’s integrity without affecting its finish. It is important to avoid abrasive or aggressive cleaning products, because these can damage the patina or alter the appearance of the pewter. The patina will continue to develop and blend naturally over time, enhancing the bar top’s character.

For those who wish to slow down the patina process or maintain a more polished look, beeswax can be reapplied periodically after cleaning. This helps to manage the rate at which the surface evolves, preserving its beauty while still allowing for gradual ageing.
