All bespoke brass splashbacks are fabricated to order by Metal Sheets Ltd, tailored precisely to your specifications.
With over 15 years’ experience, we manufacture brass splashbacks for residential kitchens, commercial interiors, and professional installations, delivering accurate sizing, clean detailing, and long-term durability. In most kitchen applications, aged and antique brass finishes are commonly specified for their warmer tone and reduced reflectivity compared to brighter polished surfaces.
All brass splashbacks are made to measure with cut-outs, folded edges and finish options to suit your kitchen layout.
Brass is a reliable and well-proven material for kitchen splashbacks, offering an excellent balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term performance. As a copper-zinc alloy, brass is well suited to environments exposed to general heat, moisture, and routine cleaning, making it a practical choice for both residential and commercial kitchens.

Brass splashbacks work particularly well across preparation and general cooker areas. However, in zones of intense or concentrated heat and steam — such as directly behind gas burners or high-output hobs — additional consideration is recommended when specifying patinated or lacquered finishes. Prolonged exposure in these areas can accelerate natural changes in tone or affect sealed surfaces over time.
For this reason, many projects incorporate a heat-resistant insert or section directly behind the hob, often in stainless steel, while using brass across the wider splashback for visual continuity. This approach maintains the overall design intent while improving long-term finish stability in the most demanding area. For more guidance, see our metal splashbacks for AGA and range cookers page.
From a fabrication perspective, brass allows for precise cutting, clean edge detailing, and accurate cut-outs for sockets, switches, and fixtures. This makes it ideal for bespoke splashbacks where exact dimensions and tight tolerances are required.
Brass splashbacks are easy to maintain with routine cleaning and can be supplied in a range of finishes, including natural, brushed, and aged surfaces. Where a more consistent appearance is required, finish selection and placement can be tailored to suit the intensity of use within different areas of the kitchen.
Compared with stainless steel, brass offers a warmer visual tone while still delivering durability and hygiene, making it a popular specification choice where both function and appearance matter. For clients seeking a made-to-measure splashback manufactured to specification, brass remains a versatile and dependable option.

Metal Sheets Ltd work closely with clients to design and fabricate bespoke brass kitchen splashbacks using high-quality brass sheets, manufactured to precise specifications. Whether you require a simple panel behind a cooker or a full-length splashback running the width of a kitchen, our brass splashbacks can be manufactured up to 3000 mm in a single seamless run, subject to layout and access.
This makes brass particularly suitable for wider cooker installations, including AGA and range cooker splashbacks, where larger, joint-free panels are required.

We work from customer measurements, templates, sketches, or technical drawings to ensure accurate fit and alignment. Fabrication takes place in our UK workshop using laser cutting and computer-controlled press braking, allowing us to produce clean edges, accurate cut-outs for sockets and switches, and consistent folded returns where required.
For installations requiring additional rigidity, brass splashbacks can be formed into tray sections and bonded to 9 mm moisture-resistant MDF or birch plywood, providing improved stability and ease of installation. This approach is commonly specified for larger splashbacks or where wall conditions require additional support.

We prioritise material quality and consistency when manufacturing brass kitchen splashbacks. Our brass sheet is sourced from established European mills, ensuring reliable surface quality and predictable fabrication performance.

Our fabrication equipment allows us to maintain tight dimensional tolerances, enabling longer brass panels to be produced with minimal or no joints where site conditions allow. We routinely stock brass sheets in lengths of up to three metres, making them suitable for wide cooker runs, range surrounds, and full-height splashback applications.
As with all rolled brass sheet, natural variations in tone and surface appearance may occur between batches, which is a normal material characteristic rather than a defect. These variations do not affect performance and are considered part of working with solid brass sheet material.

Natural and satin brass finishes retain the base surface of the brass sheet and may be supplied untreated or with optional surface sealing. When left unsealed, these finishes will change gradually over time through normal oxidation. Where a more stable appearance is required, natural and satin finishes can be clear lacquered to reduce marking and simplify ongoing maintenance.
Aged and antique brass finishes are created through controlled surface treatment and are supplied sealed as standard to stabilise the appearance and protect the surface in kitchen environments. Further technical information on surface treatments is available on our patina sheet metal page.
Mirror-polished brass splashbacks are available as a high-reflectivity option where specified, though most kitchen installations favour satin, aged, or antique finishes for practicality and visual warmth.
Caring for your brass splashback is simple and keeps it looking beautiful. For natural and satin finishes without lacquer, clean using a microfibre cloth and warm, soapy water. These finishes will develop a patina naturally, so avoid harsh cleaners. To slow patina development, apply beeswax, such as Natural Creamy Beeswax by Flag Paints Ltd.
Lacquered splashbacks are equally low maintenance and can be cleaned using a microfibre cloth dampened with soapy water, followed by drying with a clean cloth to maintain their sheen.

For mirror-polished or hammered brass splashbacks, restore their shine with Brasso or a similar brass polish. For a more eco-friendly option, try Bio-Mex, an effective polishing cleaner available on Amazon.

When fixing your brass splashback to timber, walls, or other surfaces using adhesives, it’s essential to follow proper guidelines to ensure a secure and lasting fit.
Avoid using silicones containing acetic acid, as these can damage the brass. If you are uncertain about the contents of an adhesive, it’s best to avoid it altogether. We recommend high-quality adhesive sealants such as Bostik Simson MSR or CT1 Adhesive Sealant, both of which are available from The Glue People. Before applying adhesive, ensure that all surfaces are free of dust, loose debris and grease. The area should be suitably burnished to create a clean and stable base for the splashback.
