The hammered copper table top makes a striking alternative, showcasing rich reddish hues and a crafted finish. The close-up highlights how the hammered table top detailing intensifies the material’s warm, inviting glow, while the full table image reveals a rustic yet sophisticated feel. Copper naturally ages, developing a patina that gives each table a distinctive, evolving personality, perfect for those who value materials that grow more characterful over time.
For round hammered metal table tops, we employ three different construction techniques depending on the design and size:
1. Seamless spin-formed hammered tops (up to 85 cm diameter)
The metal is spun and shaped directly around the table top, resulting in a completely seamless appearance. This delivers a continuous hammered effect without any visible joints, providing a premium, high-end finish.
2. Edge-trimming method (up to 100 cm diameter)

2. Edge-trimming method (up to 100 cm diameter)
A hammered copper or brass sheet is bonded to a core of MDF.
A rolled “C” section edge trim is fitted around the circumference, neatly folding over the edge of the table and wrapping approximately 1 cm underneath to create a tidy and defined finish.
3. Large diameter method (100 cm – 190 cm diameter)
For larger table tops, two sheets are used with a central seam. A groove is cut into the timber core, and the sheets are folded with a slim overlap that fits securely into it. An edge trim is then added, as with the edge-trimming method. This allows us to create striking centrepieces up to 190 cm across.
We use two construction approaches for rectangular hammered table tops, depending on size:
1. Press-braked or wrapped metal tops (up to 190 cm x 90 cm)
The hammered copper or brass sheet is either folded upwards using a press brake or wrapped around a timber base.
The underside is finished by securing and soldering the corners, creating a seamless, polished look.
2. Edge-trimming method for larger sizes
For larger tables or when specific detailing is required, we apply the same rolled “C” edge trim used on our round table tops.
This technique delivers a refined, structured edge while ensuring the table remains strong and robust.
For hammered brass dining table tops, design alternatives such as double “D” ends offer a gentler, rounded shape. This option is perfect for those wanting to avoid sharp corners and achieve a softer outline.
The maximum size we can produce for a rectangular hammered metal table top is 180 cm x 180 cm, with a central seam added for additional strength.

A fine example of hammered copper’s versatility, the featured image shows a bespoke beaten copper bar, clad across the front and top. Made in our workshop before delivery, it shows how hammered copper adds bold, luxurious character to bars, counters, and feature pieces. The textured surface deepens visual appeal, offers durability, and naturally develops with age, making it ideal for hospitality and residential interiors.
