Returns & Refunds Policy

At Metal Sheets Ltd, many of our products are supplied as raw materials or made to order.
Please read the following carefully before placing your order.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

1. Stock Sheet Metal (Uncut)

We accept returns of standard, uncut sheet metal subject to the following conditions:

Sheets must be unused and in the same condition as supplied
No scratches, dents, marks, or edge damage
Protective film must be fully intact and unpeeled (where supplied)

Important:
If a sheet was supplied with a protective film and that film has been peeled back, lifted, or removed in any area,
the sheet is classed as used and cannot be returned. This applies even if only a small corner
of the film has been lifted.

Once protective film is disturbed:

The surface cannot be re-protected correctly
Metals such as brass, copper, and zinc are exposed to air and moisture
Oxidation or surface marking may begin immediately

For this reason, film-disturbed sheets are non-returnable.

Return requests for eligible stock sheets must be made within 14 days of delivery.

2. Custom Cut Sheet Metal

Sheets supplied in custom cut sizes are non-returnable.

This includes:

Guillotine-cut sheets
Laser-cut rectangles
Any sheet cut down from a larger stock size

These items are cut specifically to your order and cannot be resold.

3. Bespoke & Made-to-Order Products

Bespoke fabricated products are non-returnable, including but not limited to:

Formed, folded, or welded items
Engraved, laser-cut or CNC-profiled products
Patinated, aged, or hand-finished surfaces
Products made to customer drawings or specifications

Exceptions apply only if:

The item is supplied incorrectly
The item arrives damaged
The item does not match the agreed specification

4. Incorrect Items Supplied

If we have supplied the wrong material, size, or product, we will:

Arrange a return where appropriate
Replace the item or issue a refund in full

Please notify us as soon as possible so we can resolve this quickly.

5. Damage in Transit

If your order arrives damaged:

Inspect goods immediately on receipt
Notify us within 48 hours with photographs of:
- The damage
- The packaging
- The affected items

Where possible, we may discuss:

Salvage or partial use
A price adjustment
Replacement of the damaged item

Each case is assessed individually.

6. Oxidation & Natural Material Characteristics

Brass, copper, zinc, mild steel, and similar metals are living materials and may show:

Natural colour variation
Oxidation
Surface marking over time

These characteristics are not defects and form part of the nature of raw metal once exposed.

7. Return Approval

All returns must be approved in advance.

Unauthorised returns may be refused.

Returned goods must be adequately packaged for transit. We cannot accept responsibility for damage incurred during return shipping.
