In fact, newly produced bronze sheets exhibit a hue so similar to high-quality copper that distinguishing between the two can be challenging without close inspection, especially for those without technical training.

While many associate bronze with the darker, weathered tones often seen on outdoor statues and architectural elements, that aged patina is a result of natural oxidation that occurs over time when bronze metal sheets are exposed to open air and moisture. The bronze metal sheets we provide is supplied in its raw, unaged state, showcasing its original semi-bright surface and reddish-gold tone, which is brighter and more reflective than aged bronze.

When bronze metal sheets or castings are aged naturally or treated in-house with a patination process, they develop the classic deep grey appearance often associated with antique bronze. Copper, by contrast, undergoes a more noticeable transformation, transitioning from rich browns to near-black and eventually forming the familiar green verdigris surface when exposed to the elements. Due to the higher cost of bronze sheet metal, it is not commonly used for items such as bar tops or table tops; copper is generally preferred for those applications. Bronze sheets are instead more often used in general engineering and machining, where their strength and workability make them a practical choice.
