The challenge lay in preserving the building's contemporary allure while infusing it with the charm of antiquity.
Metal Sheets Ltd supplied and fabricated floor-to-ceiling brass wall cladding for the JJ Mack Building in London.
Partners Group occupied floors 6 and 7, with James Johnson Ltd as the fit-out contractor. The brief was to introduce the warmth and heritage
of patinated brass while maintaining a contemporary, high-end interior aesthetic.
The design team sought a patinated finish with depth, variation and movement—rich enough to add character without overpowering the architecture.
Working from sample approvals and control standards, we recommended natural brass sheet chemically patinated to an antique finish,
drawing on our in-house brass finishes expertise to achieve a consistent yet naturally varied look.
Panels were produced from aged brass sheets, then bonded to MR MDF boards as
installation-ready wall modules. Each panel was hand-finished using controlled patination techniques, followed by careful sealing to stabilise the tone
while preserving the tactile character of the surface.
The original four-month programme extended to six months to meet the precise patination expectations at scale.
We maintained transparent communication and milestone reporting throughout sampling, production and batching—ensuring alignment across architect,
client and fit-out teams without compromising the agreed finish standard.
The completed brass wall cladding delivers a warm, timeless atmosphere with genuine materiality.
Depth of colour, subtle variation and refined fabrication detail complement the building’s modern lines while adding a sense of heritage.
