Brass Grades Explained

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc — the grade determines colour tone, formability, and suitability for machining. We stock and supply common brass grades used across design and fabrication:

• CZ108 — Yellow Brass (Common / Traditional Brass): high-purity cold-forming brass (63% Cu, 37% Zn), widely used in interiors, fabrication, and general metalwork.
• CZ106 — Spinning Brass (Cartridge Brass): excellent for cold forming and metal spinning (70% Cu, 30% Zn).
• CZ120 — Engraving Brass: easy to machine and engrave due to added lead (59% Cu, 39% Zn, 2% Pb). Suitable for plaques, signage, and precision components.
