Perforated Decorative Metal Sheets – Style, Function & Custom Design

Perforated Decorative Metal Sheets

Perforated metal sheets crafted in brass, copper, and steel — precision-cut panels for stylish interiors and architectural detail

Perforated decorative metal sheets combine visual impact with practical performance, making them ideal for both architectural and interior design projects.
At Metal Sheets Ltd, we manufacture bespoke perforated panels in brass, copper, stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel. Each panel is precision cut, finished and fabricated to order, giving you complete control over pattern, material, thickness and fixing details.

What Are Perforated Decorative Metal Sheets?

Perforated decorative metal sheets are metal panels with a repeating pattern of holes or slots, designed to provide airflow, light transmission and visual interest.
They can be used as stand-alone screens or as infill panels within joinery, metalwork and architectural features.
Our panels are produced from high-quality sheet metal and cut using fibre laser technology for clean, burr-free edges and excellent repeatability across multiple pieces.

Design Options & Patterns

We can produce perforated panels with round, square, slotted or diamond-shaped holes, arranged in straight or staggered layouts. Patterns can be scaled, mirrored or combined to create subtle ventilation grilles or bold geometric feature screens. Because all panels are laser cut to order, we can work from your CAD drawings or help you develop new artwork that suits your project.

Perforated decorative metal sheets can also be combined with solid panels, folded returns and framing to create three-dimensional effects, shadow lines and layered surfaces.
For larger schemes, we can repeat patterns across multiple panels so that joints align cleanly and the design flows seamlessly.

Material Choices & Finishes

We work with a wide range of metals, each offering its own character and performance benefits:

  • Brass – Warm, sophisticated tones ideal for luxury interiors, available in polished, brushed, satin, aged and antique patina finishes. See our brass sheet options for more detail.
  • Copper – Rich, natural colour that can be supplied bright-polished, brushed or hand-aged. Over time, copper develops a distinctive patina that suits heritage and contemporary spaces alike.
  • Stainless steel – Clean, modern and durable, with brushed, mirror-polished or patterned finishes. Ideal for high-use areas and hygienic environments.
  • Aluminium – Lightweight and corrosion-resistant, suitable for larger panels, ceilings and cladding where reduced weight is a priority.
  • Mild steel – A cost-effective choice for panels that will be powder-coated or incorporated into painted metalwork.

Brass and copper panels can be finished in our patina studio with aged, antique or specialist patina effects, while clear lacquer can be applied to preserve the chosen finish and reduce maintenance.

Applications in Architecture & Interior Design

Perforated decorative metal sheets are used extensively in bars, restaurants, reception counters, lighting features and cabinetry fronts. They provide a practical way to introduce airflow and acoustic control while adding texture and depth to surfaces.
Common applications include:

  • Bar fronts and reception counters
  • Decorative wall cladding and feature panels
  • Radiator covers and convector grilles
  • Cabinet and wardrobe doors
  • Partition screens and balustrade infills
  • Lighting panels, ceiling rafts and acoustic baffles

Panels can be fabricated with folded edges, flanges or frames so they are ready to fix into joinery or metalwork on site.

Finishing & Fabrication

Every perforated panel is cut and finished in our Liverpool workshop.
As well as laser cutting, we offer press-braking, folding, edging and framing to ensure panels are supplied ready to install. Where multiple panels are required, we can align patterns across joints and maintain consistent margins, helping installers achieve a neat, professional result.

Our patina specialists can apply antique, aged or burnished finishes to brass and copper, while stainless steel and aluminium can be brushed or polished for a crisp, contemporary look.
Protective lacquers are available to stabilise patina finishes and simplify ongoing maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are perforated decorative metal sheets used for?

They’re commonly used in architectural and interior design for bar fronts, reception counters, radiator covers, lighting panels, cabinetry fronts and ventilation grilles.
The perforations provide both visual interest and airflow.

Which metals can be used for perforated decorative panels?

We manufacture perforated panels in brass, copper, stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.
Each material offers a distinct appearance and structural quality, allowing you to match the metal to the environment and design intent.

Can you produce custom perforated patterns?

Yes. Panels are laser cut to order, so we can produce round, square, slotted or diamond perforations arranged in straight or staggered layouts.
Bespoke CAD designs are welcome, and we can help with artwork preparation if required.

Do you make fully custom perforated decorative metal sheets?

Every sheet we produce is custom made.
You can specify the metal type, thickness, pattern, open area, finish and edge details, and we’ll manufacture perforated decorative metal sheets to suit your exact project requirements.

Do you offer aged or antique finishes?

Our patina studio can apply aged, antique or lacquered finishes to brass and copper perforated sheets, ensuring a consistent tone across multiple panels.
We can also leave panels unlacquered if you prefer a natural ageing process.

Do perforated decorative sheets come with framing or folded edges?

Yes. Panels can be press-braked, folded or framed for quick installation within cabinetry, counters or architectural screens.
We can also drill fixing holes or provide backing meshes on request.
